For those of you who don't know, JD Robb is a pseudonym for Nora Roberts best known for her romance books. I'm not a fan of romance novels in general although I don't mind if there is romance in the books I read. I like this series because it has elements I love: crime, drama, a bit of romance, and it is futuristic without being too "out there". By that i mean there are no aliens or objects that we couldn't see as possible. The year is 2050, so yes there are things that we do not have, but those things aren't inconceivable as being possible in a few short years.
This is just one book in a long series... not sure exactly how many books there are, but I'm getting towards the end of the series. Lieutenant Eve Dallas is the main character, and she is married to Roarke who owns almost everything, is too good at everything, and of course looks gorgeous. Roarke and his relationship with Dallas are the parts of the book that to me are too hard to believe sometimes. I even can believe that there are people living on different planets (which Roarke owns many of them), but because Dallas is so harsh, crude, and not a people person, I tend to find their relationship too convenient for the story. That's my biggest problem with this series... I just don't quite buy it.
But overall if you like crime, drama, and a little romance give this series a chance. And let me know what your thoughts are.

You know, I don't have a problem with their relationship (he has a rough past, too, and she has softened quite a bit during their time together), but I get a bit tired of him owning everything. It's awfully convenient, and kind of annoying. I like the books, though.
