This week we welcome Jessica Barksdale Inclan to Book Talk with J & J. I met Jessica on Facebook and she answered my call for author promos. She has provided us with a guest blog and an excerpt from her new book Intimate Beings. And she is going to be with us this week to talk with you and answer any questions you have for her.
Now for the contest that y'all are waiting for. Jessica is giving away an autographed copy of Intimate Beings to a random commenter. You can ask Jessica a question on this post, comment on her guest blog or excerpt, or go to her website at http://www.jessicabarksdaleinclan.com and tell us something of interest you've found there. Or if you've read one of Jessica's books before, tell us about it.
The contest will run until Friday, October 3rd at 5:00 PDT. You know the drill... and contest rules are posted on the left sidebar.

I got my hands on a copy of When You Believe when I scheduled Jessica to be our guest. I read it this past weekend and found it quite enjoyable. It's a little out of my normal paranormal reading, being that it's more magic as compared to vamprires and such, but I found myself not wanting to put the book down. :D And now I'm going to have to hunt up the next book in the series to see what happens next.
I think I know where you can get one! At a great price, the best :)

The guy in the trailor has deep soulful brown eyes awesome
That trailer just cracks me up! I love it. So much fun, and yes, his eyes are deep!

I didn't realize Jessica also wrote some poetry. I really liked Zaftig Means Juicy.

Thank you! I always thought zaftig was a really nice word for ""larger," and once a German man explained to me that we had ruined this lovely, juicy word. So I wrote that poem.
Best,
J
Huh, I always thought zaftig meant plus-sized as well.
Hi Jessica, I always get such a better sense of a story with a first chapter excerpt, and really enjoyed reading what you have posted on your web page. Paranormal storylines always get my interest, and I've added this series to my wish list.
Thank you, Cathy! I am happy to put up the excerpts, though I do worry that they don't make sense hanging there by themselves! So thank you for enjoying.
Best,
J
To arkiern--
I think we just need to reclaim the juciy, larger meaning of zaftig. Let it mean "voluptuous," but let it also mean "juicy!"
