Jessica: All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten by Robert Fulghum

I have see this book before, but never picked it up. The other day was browsing the stacks in my local library, so I picked it up and took it home. I really had no idea what to expect, but it was a quick read.

All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergartenhas some basic life lessons in it. The first chapter is really where all the good stuff is located, and the remaining chapters are stories Robert Fulghumtells about people he has met in life that made an impression with him.

Before I list some of the Kindergarten lessons, let me just say this... I think these are great lessons, and they are ones that parents and teachers try to instill in kids growing up, BUT we forget them as we get older. For instance... sharing. How many times did hear that you must share your toys etc with your brothers and sisters and others, yet right now how many of you would not be willing to share most of your stuff.

Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Take a nap every afternoon.
Live a balanced life- learn some and think some and draw some and paint some and sing some and dance some and play some and work every day some.

With just those few... imagine what life would be like if everyone remembered and practiced what they learning in Kindergarten.
