Karen Templeton delivers a fun Christmas story with “Dear Santa”. Grant Braeburn is suddenly a single father when his ex-wife dies in a car accident. He convinces his ex’s best friend, Mia, to help him learn to be a father to his daughter and smooth the transition. But Grant soon discovers that he wants Mia to be a permanent fixture in their lives.
I found this to be a refreshing and satisfying Christmas story. I often worry when children have big parts in a romance story, but Ms. Templeton created a realistic child dealing with an all too common, and unfortunate, circumstance. The child is the reason the couple first has a friendship, but she’s not the basis of their relationship.
