Today I was doing some searches for other blogs about books, and I came across Girls Just Reading that features three friends and their book reviews and such. I wasn't really surprised to see a post about the Deathly Hallowsmovie being split into two parts, but since this is the first place I read it, I want to give them credit. I can't say I was surprised because I've been slowly listening to my favorite Harry Potter podcast: Mugglecast where they've been discussing this very topic for a while now.

Additional news obtained from Mugglenet:

1. David Yates will direct Deathly Hallows. He also directd Order of the Phoenix.
2. Deathly Hallows part 1 will be released Nov 2010.
3. Deathly Hallows part 2 will be released May 2011.
4. JK Rowling is "cool" with the split.

I'm not quite sure how I feel about this. I've been listening to Mugglecast debate it for weeks now, but I have yet to form a concrete opinion. What I would love to see is a very long movie with nothing missing, but that's not what movies from books are about. It's a different medium.

I just hope they are at least 2 hours each. I would hate for it to be split only for each movie to be 90 mins.

What do you think? Are you glad Deathly Hallowswill be split into two movies. Where do you think the split will take place? (I've only read DH once, so I can't really remember the whole story line.)

I'm not really sure how I feel about this news. I've read the book once and listened to it on CD about 6 months later.

I'm finding it hard to think of a good place to end the first movie. I'm guessing it'll be around the time that the trio get caught. I think things start to move to quickly after that to really take a year-long movie break. In fact, I think it's the year between movies that bothers me the most. I mean, splitting them up allows for more content to be added, but then we, as movie-goers, have to wait much longer for the final installment.
